Who We Are
About The Founder
I’m Rachelle, a marine biologist, former surf photographer, and mum.
I grew up surfing in California before spending over a decade living and working in some of the most remote ocean places on earth.
I’ve spent time on boats in Tonga, shooting surf in the Maldives and Tahiti, living on the Great Barrier Reef, and eventually earning my Bachelor of Science in Marine Systems.
But the truth is, none of that mattered as much as the way the ocean shaped my own childhood.
Peggy & The Sea is my way of passing that on through experiences that are raw, sensory, and rooted in the natural world.
About Peggy & The Sea
Peggy & The Sea was created to give children something the modern world has forgotten: time outdoors, space to explore, and a connection to the sea.
These sensory-rich experiences are designed to support healthy development through movement, play, and nature, always guided by coastal rhythms and grounded in intention.
Every program is small, thoughtful, and shaped by the seasons. From babies discovering texture for the first time to toddlers building reef worlds in the sand, we believe real learning starts when children feel safe, curious, and free.
We’re here for families who love the ocean or wish they could spend more time in it. This is childhood, rewilded.

Upcoming Sessions
Term 3
July 21, 2025 - September 26, 2026
Beach Skool is an outdoor, ocean-led play session designed for curious little ones who learn best with sand on their feet and salt in the air.
Each week follows a gentle rhythm of movement, storytelling, and discovery from scavenger hunts to obstacle trails, tide talk to shell play. It's about giving kids space to explore, ask questions, and build a real relationship with the sea.
We let the beach guide the day. Your child leads the rest.

About Our Sessions
Here’s how we approach our sessions : simple, grounded, and designed with purpose.
1. Child-led, always.
Kids are free to explore at their own pace. There’s no pressure to join in or sit still. We design the space, they lead the way.
2. Rooted in nature.
Every session is inspired by the ocean, the seasons, and the textures of the natural world.
3. Small groups, big impact.
We keep our sessions intentionally small so each child feels safe, seen, and supported.
4. Thoughtful materials only.
Everything we use, from playdough to driftwood, is chosen to spark curiosity, sensory exploration, and discovery.
5. Parent presence matters.
Parents are part of it. These sessions create space to connect with your child in a way that’s natural and unforced.
6. It’s not just play, it’s development.
Behind every station is intention. Our sessions support movement, emotional regulation, sensory integration, and confidence… all through play that feels like freedom.
7. Seasonally responsive and community-shaped.
Our programs shift with the rhythms of nature and the real needs of local families. We adapt what we offer based on the seasons, and often shape sessions in response to the feedback and energy of the community itself.
